Ashley Lough:
Today, we’re setting up for the Christmas Store. We take down our normal classrooms and normal uses of the building, and we transform it into a store that families are able to come and shop for their kids.

Jay Height:
We’ve been doing this about 20 years. And we always look forward to this day when we’re able to invest in the lives of our parents and grandparents, so that they can provide Christmas.

Speaker 3:
It helps a whole lot of families. I’m surprised they do it every year.

Ashley Lough:
The Christmas Store really empowers families in a way to be able to come and have a say in what their kids are getting for Christmas.

Speaker 4:
I love this event. I think it’s a blessing. It’s a godsend. It helps people like me that can’t afford to give your kids a great Christmas.

Speaker 5:
So this is my grandson that I’m here for. So I’m just trying to just bless him, so he can have a Merry Christmas this year.

Jay Height:
We wanted this to be about a way we could help parents and grandparents, those who have custody of the kids provide Christmas.

Speaker 6:
[Spanish 00:01:24].

Jay Height:
We’ll be able to help over a thousand children receive Christmas today. And then all of the stuff we have left over, we work with partners. And so we’ll total over 2,000 kids will receive Christmas because of the store at Shepherd Community.

Speaker 5:
Shepherd Community, I know it had been around for a while. And they’re doing good work in the community and I just hope that God continue to bless Shepherd.

Jay Height:
We want to be a partner with the parents and help them understand that Christmas and the love of Christmas is exuded to them as well.
