18 Aug VIDEO: Partner Update
Hey, we’re excited here at Minnie Hartmann. Our new early childhood center opened this week and we’ve had little feet walking in this door and we’re excited about that. We’ve had parents carry in their infant children in, and we know that this is an important growth in our ministry to the near Eastside of Indianapolis. Our goal is not just to babysit, but to help these kids develop the skills that they may thrive, that they can recognize all that they were created for. And we want to work with the parents as well. And for many of them, a place like this is essential so that they can work, go to school, or do whatever it is necessary for the parent to move forward as well.
This is one of three infant rooms we have. Our ratio is one to four. This can be the home of eight children.
Shepherd is about two-generation. We want to help the parent as well as the children. And Minnie Hartmann is a new step forward as we are on this road to recovery, dealing with the very basic of needs, but also helping families move forward. You’ll hear more about other initiatives, but we’re excited about this one and to see the little faces that we can invest in for their lifetime.
Each class is named by an animal. This infant room is “Team Camel,” and each room will have a door decal, and then also a big mural in the room that portrays the animal of the class.
Thank you for your support. Thank you to NEAR who made this possible and to all of the funders who’ve invested in the lives. Those lives have names and faces, and it’s our privilege to care for them. Stay safe and have a great week, as we invest in the lives of many little children.Jay Height:
