Shepherd helps students develop a love for learning and the confidence to keep improving throughout their years at school. Students are given an opportunity to learn and grow, to have a future full of hope.
Shepherd Community Center serves over 160 kids in our Academy classrooms and over 250 kids in our After-School programming every day. Shepherd makes sure that every child in our programming has the personalized instruction he or she needs to thrive and develop in every subject, helping them move from a life of poverty to a life of stability and hope.
Your monthly donation can help students get the education they deserve for a future free from poverty! Your gift helps a high school student with navigating college and financial aid applications, gives a child one-on-one tutoring, connects a child with an adult mentor to encourage and empower them to be their best self, provides breakfast, lunch, snacks, and dinner for a child every day, and allows an elementary student to learn all summer long through fun, hands-on lessons, field trips, and dedicated mentors.
Shepherd Community Center exists to break the cycle of poverty on the near Eastside of Indianapolis through a Continuum of Care that meets the physical, emotional, spiritual, and academic needs of our neighbors. Shepherd offers programs for children, teens, adults, and families.
