Help students EXCEL this summer at Shepherd!

Shepherd’s Summer Programming is back again this summer in full force. Shepherd students K through 12 are improving their academics in a safe, fun environment. We are helping children not just catch up on academics, but EXCEL.


Since summer learning loss unequally affects students living in poverty, Shepherd works to help students catch up and be more confident in the classroom. By 2023, Shepherd’s goal is to have 90% of students reading and understanding math at or above grade level, a goal that can only be achieved through additional, intentional time at Shepherd Summer Programming.


Summer EXCEL Programming is for elementary while Summer YLIFe is for middle and high school students. EXCEL elementary students will focus on fun academics while YLIFe focuses on college and career opportunities. All of Shepherd’s Summer Programming is about developing meaningful, mentoring relationships with over 200 students for an entire summer. Every child will experience opportunities and meaningful relationships that will have a life-long impact.
