Frequently Asked Questions


Q:  What kinds of internships are available?
A:
 We have internships available with the elementary daycamp program, the middle school youth job preparedness program, and the high school youth job preparedness program.

Q:  How do I apply?
A:
 Our internship application is available online. Click here to apply now.

Q:  Do interns work full-time or part-time?
A:
 All summer internships are full-time. Hours vary depending upon the role, but availability on weekends and evenings is likely.

Q:  Is the internship paid?
A:
 Yes.  You will be paid a $200/ week stipend for 10 weeks.

Q:  Is food provided?
A:
 Yes.  You will be able to make use of the kitchen and the food here.

Q:  Is church attendance required?
A:
 Yes.  We ask that you attend Shepherd or another local church.

Q:  Are in person interviews required?
A:
 Yes.  Once we have received your application we will schedule an in person interview here at Shepherd.  If an in person interview is not possible, we will make other arrangements.

Q:  Is housing provided?
A:
 Yes, as needed.

Q:  Can I also have a part time job in addition to the internship?
A:
 Yes. Our preference is that you focus solely on the work of your internship, but you are free to work another job.

Q:  Will I be able to take time off?
A:
 Yes.  You will have 3 days available to take off.  You must fill out an absence request form and have it approved by your supervisor.  Any extenuating circumstances should be discussed with staff at the time of the interview.
